It may, perhaps, be Bahamut acting once more. They are connected to his power through the king. Seeing people rebel and fight against his plan could have urged the Bladekeeper to erase the memories and, in turn, wills of those who did not suit his whims. Otherwise, Noctis could have had more chasing after him, even less protection until his appointed day . . .
